FIGURE.01Mistborn - The final empire

I have finally finished reading The Final Empire, and I can honestly say that I loved the book. When I first saw the cover, I had already made up my mind about it. I thought I would never enjoy it and did not expect much from the story. However, my opinion changed completely.

When I went to the library to borrow the book, I met a man who worked there. While I was looking through the shelves, he came up to me and asked what I was looking for. I did not really want to admit that I was actually looking for another book, so I simply told him that I was looking for The Final Empire by Sanderson. At first, he did not understand what I meant, but then he realized which book I was talking about and took me to another bookshelf nearby.

He told me that he absolutely loved Sanderson’s books and was a huge fan of his work. He strongly recommended the book and told me that I should start from the very first chapter. He warned me that there were many names and characters to keep track of, and that it could become confusing if I did not pay attention from the beginning. After that conversation, I decided that I would give the book a real chance. I had already borrowed it, so I thought, why not just start reading?

The story introduces us to Vin, the main character, a young girl who is treated badly by the group she lives with. At first, I saw her as a frightened and powerless girl. I thought she was someone who would simply accept the way others treated her. But I quickly realized that I had completely misunderstood her.

Vin turned out to be incredibly brave. What I found especially interesting about her was her curiosity and her ability to change depending on the situation. She can almost become a completely different person when she needs to. I found this inspiring because she is not afraid to step outside of her comfort zone and try new things. Even when she feels like she is not as talented or experienced as the other members of the group, she still finds the courage to make her voice heard.

I also found it interesting that Vin is very aware of her appearance and her social status. She knows that she comes from a lower class and that people may judge her because of it. However, she does not allow this to completely silence her. Instead, she slowly learns to take part in discussions and express her own opinions.

One of the things I found most interesting about Vin was the way her past affects the way she thinks and behaves. The voices and experiences from her past sometimes make her doubt herself and stop her from saying or doing what she truly wants. It shows how difficult it can be to leave your past behind, even when you are trying to become a stronger person. For me, this made Vin feel much more realistic and relatable. She is not simply brave all the time; she has fears, doubts, and weaknesses, but she continues to move forward anyway.

Overall, I was surprised by how much I ended up enjoying The Final Empire. What I initially judged by its cover became a story that completely changed my expectations. Vin’s development was one of my favorite parts of the book, and I really enjoyed watching her become more confident, curious, and courageous throughout the story.
